Hi Striders -
Since April 11 is Easter weekend (and a 3 day weekend for UT folks), I'd like to reschedule the wildflower hike since I may be out of town.
I plan to hike every other Saturday in April, weather permitting.
So..please join us on either April 4, April 18 and/or April 25 for some wildflower hiking.
More details next week about the April 4 hike.

Plan for Saturday morning:
We've got myself, Kiks and Dre doing the overnight
Danielle, Title 9/Susan G, Linda and Mary Pom for the short hike
Renee, Ellen, Wildflower Woman/Corinne and Tara for the long hike.
How does this sound for carpooling:
- Linda and Mary Pom carpool from my house at 9:00, picking up Title9 at
the Walland Post Office @ 9:45
- Ellen, Renee and Tara carpool from my house at 9:00, picking up
Wildflower Woman at the Walland Post Office @9:45
- Trena and Kiks from my house, showing everyone where the Walland Post
Office is and we all continue on from there
- Dre and Danielle meet us at the Middle Prong trailhead at 10:30 (we
can give Dre a ride home on Sunday).
Whew! I'm looking forward to being outside!
If anything comes up give me a call at 696-2669 or email today or tomorrow.

Happy first week of spring, Striders!
We have a long and a short hike option for Saturday...and I'm even debating an overnighter for anyone interested in backpacking..
We'll go in through Tremont and see whether the trillium on the Middle Prong Trail is out yet (probably not quite yet, but you never know..) We'll go all the way to Lynn Camp prong (4.1 m), where the short hike Striders can turn around for a nice 8.2 mile day.
The rest of us will continue on Lynn Camp prong up to Miry Ridge, down to Panther Creek, and back to Middle Prong, for a 15 mile loop day. Or we could camp at campsites #26 or 27 as an overnighter.
Let me know which option you might be interested in - weather is in the 60s and sunny all weekend!

Spring is coming!!!
Please change your calendars to reflect that this month's Strider hike will be March 21 (Third Saturday) so that my friend Kristen from NC can join us for a second time.
I will keep an eye on wildflower action in order to choose a trail for that hike. Likely it will be in the 8 mile range.
I'll be in touch again soon - meanwhile, get outside and enjoy the spring!
